Department of Chemistry has organized a one day National Symposium on “Horizons in Nanotechnology” (HINT-2022) on Tuesday, 5th April 2022. The key note speakers for the symposium are well-known Personalities at National and International level. The symposium was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) P.S. Patil, Pro vice chancellor of Shivaji University, Kolhapur. He enlightened role of nanotechnology in the development of human life in his address. Dr. R. V. Shejwal, Joint Secretary (Administration), Shree Swami Vivekanand Shikshan Sanstha, Kolhapur & our college Principal, presided Inaugural Function.

The first Key-note address was delivered by Dr. Saurabh S. Soni, Department of Chemistry, Sardar Patel University, Gujarat.  His speech was on Aqueous Metal Ion Battery : A Sustainable and Low Cost Energy Storage Devices. The second talk was given by Dr. J. Manjanna Dept. of Chemistry, Rani Channamma University, Belagavi Karnataka. His topic of talk was Nanomaterials for Energy devices, Environmental remediation & Biomedical applications. In the afternoon session, Dr. G.B. Kolekar, Fluorescence Spectroscopy Research Laboratory, Department of Chemistry, Shivaji University,Kolhapur-416004 MS, India delivered a lecture on Fluorescent Nanomaterials and their Analytical Applications. In last session, Dr. S. D. Delekar, Department of Chemistry, Shivaji University,Kolhapur-416004 MS,India, elaborated Innovations in Functional Nanocomposites for Energy Technologies and Biomedical Applications.

In a valedictory function, Dr. R.G. Patil, Emeritus Professor, addressed gathering and highlighted research ethics in his talk.
